Raya Sagdejeva is the founder of The Durham Doula, LLC, a dedicated birth doula based in Durham, North Carolina. Her journey into birth work began after the birth of her first daughter in 2011, when she realized the invaluable support a doula could have provided during her own experience. This realization led her to complete her first DONA training in 2019 and to create The Durham Doula, LLC, with the mission to support families through their birth journeys.

As a mother of two, Raya understands the importance of nurturing not only the connection between parent and child but also fostering the love and bond within the entire family. She brings this approach to her work, offering personalized, compassionate care to every family she supports.

As a birth doula, Raya is passionate about helping parents have their best birth experience, providing emotional, physical, and informational support tailored to each family’s needs. Her services include preparation for birth, creating birth preferences, developing postpartum plans, offering meditation and relaxation techniques, and ensuring a peaceful and supportive environment for both parents and partners. Raya is committed to helping families feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.
