Helen, the original “Aussie Doula,” is a Certified Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Placenta Encapsulator, credentialed with Novant Health. With a background that began when a close friend asked her to attend their birth, Helen’s path to becoming a doula was an unexpected but inspiring journey. Since then, she has supported over 600 birthing families in the Charlotte community.

As a mother of five children and a proud grandmother, Helen’s passion for mothering mothers and building a sense of community is at the heart of her work. She founded Aussie Doula, a well-regarded doula service, and now leads an incredible hand-picked team of doulas. Her team is dedicated to inspiring families to have supported and positive birth experiences, while fostering connections through monthly meetups filled with education and friendship.

Though her personal client load is limited, Helen remains committed to providing guidance and support to her team and families, continuing to influence the Charlotte community with her nurturing approach to birth.
